This wasn't all about who was #1's. It was influences. SO are you saying Elvis is the sole influence of rock and roll and bringing black music to the white masses?

I'm not saying the guy didn't have influence. He did!! Yes he may have helped bring certain music to bigger audiences and opened the door for others success, but many of those people who suddenly found success were already doing what they were doing. Elvis didn't have influence on cooke, he was more successful, but sam cooke was doing what he did already, he didn't get into the game and get into music because of elvis or change his style. Elvis himself took influence from others in doing what he was doing, he just did it better than them and had a marketable look.
