There weren't a lot of white people listening to the guys you mentioned until after Elvis came along. Sam Cooke didn't start releasing singles until Elvis was putting out music. Even Chuck Berry wasn't putting stuff out until Elvis came along. Without Elvis, most people would never know about Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc. It's an undeniable fact.
