Harden up Andrew LOL - we expect numerous 40 degree days just in the next couple of weeks in Melbourne and Adelayed
Seriously though - today has just highlighted what great hands we're in when it comes to government.
You'll remember the devastation a few years ago in Melbourne/Victoria - that day we had >48C and 100kmh winds. Today we had around 42C and windy so it was the first big fire risk day of the summer.
After tens/hundreds of millions of dollars of enquiries and supposed action , you'd think we'd see some results - yes??
The mobile phone app they'd promoted crashed and was showing cities miles from where they actually are on the map and the CFA website was down all day. Like many in my area the first thing I did this morning was try to check the fire map and didn't manage to see anything all day.
I feel so safe! It's pretty much a case of get out every time it's a hot day.
I hope nobody in your circle of friends/family was affected today -I understand some property has been lost in Tassie. We've been lucky in Victoria today so far but it's only days until we get another dose of these conditions.
