http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PilQQtyvZAAI got my first guitar for my 13th birthday. The first song I ever learned how to play was KISS - I Still Love You. I played in my basement forever and ever, but never started a band or seriously sat down to write a song. Only riffs and short ideas that I kept on cassette tape.
As I got older, I got busy with my career - then got married, had two kids, etc... Long story short, I finally got my act together and wrote ten songs that I just started recording at a local home studio. I'll print up some CD's just to have as a keepsake - something I created out of thin air. The process has been a lot of fun so far and I can see myself even writing and recording a second album.
The moral of the story is it's never too late to do something you want to do!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!
