Anyone who feels the
need to have a gun for home defence, lives in a culture of fear. They may not feel like that, but to any outsider, that's exactly how it looks. As for my kill or be killed mindset comment, that honestly seems to be the attitude of many gun owners. If someone breaks into their home while they are there, there seems to be an automatic assumption that the burglars are there to rob
and kill, and not just rob, so those burglars are leaving in a body bag, just 'in-case' they are also planning to harm you. Are your possessions really worth someones life? Some gun owners just end up being way too trigger happy. This year I saw a news report where a father ended up shooting and killing his own son, as he mistook his son for a burglar. Having guns for home defence is just an accident waiting to happen.
