You use the word as if its some kind of disease, Mitch. THAT is one of the main problems here. Being liberal doesn't mean that you're the Antichrist to others.
I consider myself a right wing liberal, politically and socially. I'm not a doormat, and I'm not a zealot but the NRA have hugely, HUGELY, missed an opportunity here. That speech was unbelievable in it's disregard for plain common sense. As I see it, at least. Breathtaking arrogance personified.

The opportunity was there to make a massive public relations gain. Just soften the stance and UNDERSTAND that things need to change. Give a little to gain a great deal. But that arrogance just rode roughshod over everything else.

The rest of the civilised world is shaking it's head in disbelief.
