Half wrong mitch. Automatic (machine guns) rifles are illegal, but not ssault rifles. Semi-Automatic assault rifles are totally legal in the US. There was a ban on them back in 1984 (by Ronald Regan a Republican) that was lifted in 2004. Since then there have been record sales of semi-automatic assault rifles in the US. I'm just waiting for some dumbass republican to stand up and say "If we ban assault rifles we'll be putting thousands out of work" Mark my words this will be said be cause the gun manufactures are making record profits from the sale of assault rifles. Where i live in Maine it's illegal to hunt with an assault rifle so not leg to stand on there. Although i support a ban on assault rifles, technically guns do not kill people, people kill people.
