Yeah but Lynnott was drug-addled by that point, and as history shows, it never got better as time went on :-(
I don't think you're going to get better than Lynnott, Gorham, Moore and Downey. Midge Ure, Snowy White & John Sykes came after, and yeah, I prefer this line-up to what i've heard of the live band after 1979.
Like I say, i'm at a disadvantage having never seen Phil live, but having live DVDs and CDs are all i'm ever going to be able to go on, and yes, I prefer the current line-up over the last line-up of the "original" band.
Untill Lynnott comes back to life, you're not really going to get a better line-up in this day & age...
