For a number of reasons, Steve and Andy don't get on despite Andy trying on a number of occasions to put something together with Steve. When Andy and Mick got back together, they invited Steve to join up with them and at first it looked as though he would but he eventually decided against it. Mal McNulty who now sings with Slade replaced him. Andy has kept the flag flying for The Sweet for years now and has continually put together excellent line-ups that have included Steve Mann (ex MSG, Lionheart, Liar, etc), Chad Brown (Lionheart), Jeff Brown (Wildfire and Statetrooper), Bruce Bisland (Praying Mantis, Tank, Wildfire, Statetrooper, Weapon, etc), Phil Lanzon (Grand Prix and now Uriah Heep), Paul Mario Day (Iron Maiden & Wildfire) and now Tony O'Hora (Praying Mantis). His band continues to tour the world and are a well respected live band. It kinda pissed me off when Steve put together his own band and called it Sweet, basically ignoring Andy and all the fans who have followed the "official" band over the years.
And can I just say in response to the previous post, The Sweet did not stop in 1978, but 1982. I take it you think the band ended when Brian Connolly was fired/quit. Mick, Steve and Andy recorded three great albums as a three piece - Cut Above The Rest, Water's Edge and Identity Crisis.
