What jimg said.
Although Slade were not excellent to me. Mal McNulty is not a great vocalist, although he is the better guitar player of the 2.
If they had got a proper singer/songwriter in when Steve Whalley left, and actually made new music, and made the effort to be more than a Slade Tribute band, I think it would be a very different story.
Sweet on the other hand have made the effort, and have the best line-up since the mid-80's at present.
I hope there is new material from these guys, and now they have dropped the pop-medley (CoCo, Funny Funny & Poppa Joe) from their set and focus on a rock show, I would love to see them doing proper tours with out that "70's Hitz Cabaret" stigma. Maybe go out opening for another rock act as opposed to these 70's package tours... They put on a very fine rock show that I think would suprise alot of people.
