I really enjoyed the album too , as did plenty of others. Ultimate Classic Rock and Guitar World both gave it their album of the year , so you're not alone.

As a huge VH fan of both eras I came in with very low expectations and had them smashed. Having said that the album hasn't proven to have the staying power of the classic material , but compared to other bands of their vintage .....not much of a contest IMO. They managed to recapture the spirit of their classic era better than any other band I can think of......even allowing for the use of some old demos.
