Troy - Oops, forgot to check the "follow topic" and "e-mail me about replies" boxes, didn't see your response (or anyone else's) until now...I was like "why is no one posting after me?" lol Same for your reply to my Britny Fox post from a little earlier. Made sure to check those boxes now in case anyone responds to this. Sorry about that. I guess for people that post here more, checking the boxes is second nature by now, while I'm still adjusting to the format change from before lol
Anyway, to me, "Rob the Cradle" reminded me of VH's "And the Cradle Will Rock" just due to the title. As to the subject matter, come to think of it, I do think I realized, even then, that it was about an older guy lusting for someone underage, but I guess due to my age (around 16 at the time), I didn't feel it was such a big deal...since I lusted for girls that age, too, obviously ;-) Oh, and yeah, the ballads were good...plus I prefer their cover version of "Squeeze Box" to Poison's.
That's cool you got $60 on ebay for your Roxy Blue CD! I paid about $40 for the first CD I bought from ebay - the Electric Angels self titled CD. I was a big fan of The Loveless/Jonathan Daniel, especially his lyrics, so I was willing to pay anything to hear more. The CD did not disappoint. I was in college at the time, no longer doing the paper route, but still with limited music buying money...so that's high praise from me. Jonathan Daniel was even nice enough to respond to me when I e-mailed him to ask him where I could find the CD. I think he took exception to my use of the word "rare" (lol), but other than that, really cool guy.
And to those of you saying Wildside was better, I'm not as into that music style as I was in my youth, I think hearing that Loveless CD I mentioned earlier, in college, was a big part of my turning point, but I may check out that debut CD someday.
