ok, let me change that around so that we both know what I'm talking about. Almost all the singers I've ever heard when performing live will either a) sing the original melody....or b) sing a revised melody with some of the higher notes changes so as to make it easier on the singer. John Farnham has been known to take an entire verse and sing it in a higher key than the studio recording. I don't know anyone else who does that.
