Yeah... he was always an odd fit in Sweet to me, but he's exceptionally bad in Slade. Which is unfortunate as he's a very, very good guitarist.
Maybe go 5 piece, and add a proper singer-songwriter, who isn't a Noddy impersonator and keep Mal on 2nd guitar?
