Impossible to separate the artistic from the ownership issue here Bruce. Loverboy, Journey, and Def Leppard have all recently done this very thing, ostensibly to regain "ownership" of the original recordings. But does it make much financial sense when the rerecordings completely fail to live up to the originals and very few people purchase it?

I have heard almost no examples of rerecordings that even come close to the originals. Better productions? Maybe. But never matching the magic vibe of the originals.
