From his Facebook page: A few people have asked me why we would re record " Moodswings " and we should have explained it a little further. We don't own the masters to those recordings, we don't own anything that we recorded while we were with Warner, the only way for us to have ownership and control over those songs is to re record them. That being said we also feel that the new recordings will sonically be much better than the originals side by side.
Also to add value to the release we are recording 3 new bonus tracks as well as a DVD with recording footage and interactive audio... This is a package ( and tour ) to celebrate the 20th year anniversary of the release not just another version of what is already available.
