To me it is broke. Sonically it's very dated. I don't listen to it much myself anymore. A new version with Modern Production will get lots of airplay to me.
To me this is a win-win. For some fans who don't care and think it's a classic and shouldn't be messed with...well you still have that classic in your collection and you can enjoy it. For those who want improved vocals, better production and updated recordings we can enjoy this one. Then the band gets their masters for the "new" old tunes so they're happy. I don't get how, in any way, this is a bad thing.
