Not so much greed as necessity. The old Herbie Herbert interview indicated where they missed opportunities in the early 80's to set themselves up for a more stable financial future. Add in Schon's divorces, and you've got commitments that have to be met. In this sense, Steve Perry played the game much better than the rest of them did.
