Pelata pretty much sums it up like I would see the situation, very well put and somehow sad. As much as I like all four singers, the first time I saw them (well big deal, haven't played Europe for so long until that year 2007?...) was with Jeff Scott Soto and that show was phenonmenal !!!

In related news Steve Augeri will be part of the huge ROCK MEETS CLASSIC tour here in February / March with Paul Rodgers, Eric Bazilian, Chris Thompson and Bonnie Tyler playing in the biggest arenas here... so I feel happy for the man. ( if I recall right Journey had to cancel Berlin about three years back for poor ticket sales...!)
