That's more or less Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson's business model. Normal cd, normal surround mix, expensive limited edition box with the lot in. Seems to work.
He even put out a quick live album halfway through a tour to pay for the second leg of the tour, which it did, so illegal downloading didn't kill that off. Just got to be aware of what your bottom line is (and your target demographic) before the downloads start to kick in.
He must have been taking a lot of notice of Marillion when he was producing and touring with them.
