How are they getting fucked over any more than Little Johnny's Psychobilly band or his mates Funk band or any other genre/sub-genre out there ?

Speak to kids who are in bands these days and they're far less bothered about illegal downloads and record companies than their older contemporaries. Artists in the music industry only made a lot of money for a relatively short period of time (maybe 20-30 years), they were ripped off by record companies before that and the same record companies shot themselves and their artists in the foot by not adapting to survive once downloading became a big issue.
