I don't buy that excuse at all. The people who listen to the kind of music that this site deals in are the type of people who still want to own their favourite music on a physical format. They may download a pre-release mp3 leak out of curiosity, but they will still buy the official CD when it's released. There are just too few fans left to give even the best of releases a significant amount of sales. Every genre and sub genre of music is saturated to the max, and that is a much bigger problem than illegal downloading, especially with the world economy being fucked and the consumer having a lot less disposable income.
