I've been noodling on guitar for about a year now, still crap but improving slowly and enjoying it immensely.

Currently I just have an epiphone les Paul copy that I play thru a Marshall practice amp that has some limited effects built in.

I'd like to get some sort of interface to connect the guitar to pc with s/w to simulate effects etc and some basic recording functions.

There seem to be loads of candidates but not sure where I should start really. Willing to pay up to a couple of hundred quid.

I'm more interested in the creative side tbh, than becoming the nxt Steve Vai. (that would take me about 200 years at my rate of progress).

So any advice appreciated on equipment/sw I should short list.
