On the positive side, I think Martin Birch is worth a shout. Seldom gets much mention these days as he is from days of yore. There are few with a track record that compares with classic Purple,Rainbow,Maiden,Dio-era Sabbath, Whitesnake..

Made in Japan, Stargazer, Heaven and Hell all sound pretty good even now. I find it strange that he has been overlooked when it comes to giving out the old 'living legends' type gongs for music biz types that Classic Rock et al promote. Especially when he was behind In Rock, Machine Head, Number of the Beast.
