TOMMY NEWTON - The guy that amongst others has done the last few UFO records. A total mix of production values within one song!! Awful at times..big guitars, wet with delay reverbs etc, the vocals that sound like they were recorded with MOGGs head in jam jar! 3 potentially good records messed up with so-so production.
KEVIN SHIRLEY - This guy can make awesome sounding records (JRNY - Arrival..), but the last few years he seems be anti produce/mix values. Keep it stripped raw and live sounding. Great..IF the final product has punch, crispness and enough treble/clarity. I liken what he has done sonically (by a comparison) as to how AC/DC went from BIB to the sound of Flick Of The sWitch. The songs were perhaps there, but the effort and production left them flat by comparison (..although i've grown to love FOTS).
Fabrizio Grossi - MEHHH, everything began to sound the same and I didn't like his favoured guitarists style. Sorry, I know the Melrock disciples won't have it, but...
ROY THOMAS BAKER - Some of his stuff anyway.
ERIK MARTENSSON - He's good at what he does, but it does all seem to be starting to sound the same-ish. He's the Mutt Lange in the FRONTIERS world, he works with different people, but the underlying sound is HIM.
