Never understood the hype. Probably a case of "you had to be there to get it". Mick Jagger is an appaling singer. The level of musicianship is below zero, with the exception of Charlie Watts who is not too bad.
There is a "famous" concert DVD where at one stage Keith tries to hit a fan who invaded the stage with his guitar. I recently saw that on TV, and Jagger was so out of tune it was scary. I don't think he could sing in tune to save his life.
Mick Taylor was the only guy worth listening to. Smart musical move to have left... financially though, I am not so sure.
We always criticize rappers and Brtiney type of "singers" but to be honest from a purely vocal point of view I don't think people like Jagger, Morrison or Bowie are (much) better.
