Re: "no real friends"......

We'd recently moved to Holland (my dad was in the forces and got posted to AFCENT), my third move in 6 years, so I'd left all my mates behind in the UK.
We used to weekly board (forces school in Germany) and come home at the weekends and I literally had nothing to do. I wrote that letter in as the 'lonely headbanger from Holland' and got inundated with replies. I made some good pen pal friends and got sent shit loads of bootleg tapes....it's where I was introduced to Twisted Sister before they broke here. Great days.
The problem with moving so often when I was younger is that I was constantly feeling like an outsider. Always having to remake friends and find my social niche. To this day I find it difficult in social situations, my default setting is to stay quiet and melt into the background (some may find this hard to believe), and the Internet has replaced the pen pal thing for me.
Sorry for the detour into psychology.
