Re: Can you shape your children's taste in music?

My dad used to play country and western stuff all the time when we were kids. I was never in to it, but, I saw how passionate he was about the music. Once my brother introduced me to Rainbow, that was the start of my love affair with rock/metal.
I always told my 17 year old son to like what he wants to, and he likes a bit of dub step here and there, but, his main passion is for rock. He's forever listening to Styx or FM or something retro on his way to college.
Me, the Mrs and him go to gigs together all the time, last one was Steel Panther the other week. When the music is a bit too much for the Mrs, me and him go on our own. This year we've seen Dream Theater, Nickelback and we're going to see Testament together next week!
