I grew up in with parents very passionate for classical music. While that wasn't the music I ended up falling in love with, that certainly introduced me to a great appreciation for music (much like my father music is a part of my every day life).

So, as a result of music being constantly played in our household and to answer the thread, yes my kids have all picked up a good appreciation for music, and certainly too for our own music. Best though is the fact they are making their own decisions regarding what they do and don't like (their primary choice is of course current pop radio etc but focus more often than not toward Adele/Pink etc).

And fascinating too just what they manage to soak in;

I recently put on a tune from the new Tremonti album and before the vocals had even kicked in my 10yr old son asked if it was the new Creed/Alter Bridge record!? I was proud to say the least cause damned if I could identify with guitarists like that at his age (and for the most part still can't LOL).
