It does not make any difference if we are talking about solo artists or members of bands releasing solo albums - the question is do you have to write songs to be able to call it 'your album'.
I think that you can have a solo album even if you do not write anything, so therefore you can call an album by a band name even if not all (or indeed any) of the band members write the songs.
