Re: the harder side of rock

I've always dug Slayer's music, but it's only in recent years that I've really dug into their catalog beyond the couple CD's I had. I've been rewarded with some of most intense, brutal music I've ever laid ears to. It's fast and furious, a locomotive barreling down greased rails. Hard to believe they've kept up that aggression for some 30 years now. Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman may not be incredible soloists, but they are extremely creative with their riffs and they make one hell of a rhythm machine. And I can understand some people like singers like Joey Belladonna or David Wayne - I do too - but those vocal styles would not work in Slayer. Love 'em or loathe 'em, Slayer is what it is - they've always remained true to their vision, they pull no punches and they are still at the top of their game.
