I have never got Slayer or any of that really mad thrash death black metal stuff. At its most extreme it just sounds like a vacuum cleaner going through a Marshall stack. What's the point?! Admire the drummers though - gotta be top notch to play double bass at that speed.

Motorhead are a different ball game. I know Lemmy's vocals are rather an acquired taste but to me, there is a good degree of melody in their music. I don't have much recent stuff really but Ace Of Spades, Overkill and Bomber are all classic albums. Some great songs on there.
