Like mostof you I prefer a more melodic style hard rock/metal, but there are times when I look to something more heavy. I am the opposite of most of my friends where as they get older they like less and less hard music i have gone the other way.

however..two huge heavy metal acts that I have tried and tried but just cant get into or get...and thats Motorhead and Slayer. Moterhead is more of a straight forward heavy metal band but not much melody , all songs sound similiar and while I respect lemmy for not caving into trends he cant sing. slayer on the other hand to me, i just dont get. I dont mind screaming or more growling singing but i see nothing in their music thats appealing. however i again respect them for not chasing trends...probably why both bands continue to do well all these years later.
