I agree, other than sound effects at the start of a song, a la gunfire & Regan/Thatcher spoken parts at the beginning of Def Leppard's Gods of War etc.

All vocals / music should be live. That's what defines a great band or a band that knows how to use a recording studio.

As the 'Musician's Union' has advertised a number of times (regardless of context), "Keep Music Live!"
