Not 'too much hassle' but a total apathy from the bands: The Transistor guys even offered LED walls (incl. pretty spectacular animations for each band, I saw some samples myself), lasers and a better light show for the DVD productions (basically at their own expenses). The suggested budget for a full DVD (filming, post production, authoring) was extremely low, but 80% of the bands didn't even bother to reply. To sum things up: Unless Firefest & Transistor are prepared to take the full financial risk (production, post-production & manufacturing costs), there won't be any new Firefest DVDs in the future ... a huge shame indeed.
