I don't know much about any of the stories or the artist. I enjoyed the movie and made no claim to it's authenticity. That's the beauty of art and news ...everyone gets to have their own opinion.

I do take some issue with the dates on the bottom of the article you posted. Clearly the movie and the 60 minutes piece state that 1998 was when he played south Africa and clearly it was sometime before that when he found out that he was more successful than he imagined in a place that was very very far from his home. The dates in the bottom of the article are after that.

What he did after 1998 is not the story to me (to me, notice this is my opinion). It's what happened for the 25 years between 1973 and 1998 I found fascinating
