Only buy Blu-Rays for special movies like "The Avengers", and even then I buy the BluRay/DVD combo pack. My issue is I bought a hybrid flat screen TV back in 2004 (it was a big size TV but had a flat screen) and it has no HDMI hookup. I think HDMI became prevalent about a year later. It would be silly of me to throw away a good 42" TV and buy a flat screen just to have slightly better quality. I'll wait until the thing dies on me and stockpile some Blu-Rays until then.
