Rock was never 24/7 overkill, rap/R&B is

One thing we can say about rock and hair bands in general is that they weren't overkill on every radio, every TV programme, every advert, blasting 24/7 in every McDonalds, every sporting clip on the TV, etc
These days every single one of the above oozes rap/R&B type songs from every annoying pore. That's overkill and rock music hasn't come close on the force-fed commercial scale
