Alone is one of my favourite Heart numbers and AOR ballards period so I approached this with both interest and caution. I then checked out some After Forever stuff, studio and live.

IMHO her version of Alone was too slow and lacking the dynamics of the original. That is not taking away anything from her voice. It is more a comment on the arrangement. I have heard an acoustic version by Heart too and to be honest prefer that over Floor's too - still prefer the original though.

I think Floor Jansen will be really good in Nightwish. She has the looks, swagger and above all vocal chops to pull that gig off really well. I wish her well. I think Nightwish will be a far better vehicle for her talents than her previous band, who were good musicians but the songs I checked out were pretty lacklustre to these ears.

I also wish Annette Olzon well for the future. I like a lot of Imaginarium and will likely pick up Dark Passion Play at some point.
