Depends what the source is, Steven Wilson mixes specifically for 5.1, so it sounds better in 5.1, whereas some 5.1 mixes are half-assed embarrassments that will always sound better in 2.0 (Foreigner 4, for example)

I meant £1000 per component, by the way ;)
