On AC/DC: the publicity around Bon's death certainly helped them, so I think you're right about that. Brian's voice stronger than Bon's though? Don't make me laugh. AC/DC stopped existing for me when Scott died. Do I hate their work with Johnson? No, but I don't love it either. Except for a few tracks (You Shook Me All Night Long, Heatseaker, Who Made Who, For Those About To Rock, Night Of The Long Knives) there isn't much I like about AC/DC with BJ.

On VH: I think they made a brilliant comeback with 1984 after the hideous Diver Down, so they were on the up again. The publicity (again) around Roth leaving and Hagar entering sure helped them with getting even bigger, but 5150 also was a great album (their best IMHO), so I just think everything fell into place for them at that time.
