Definitely not! I can be quite a cynical person sometimes, but there's no denying the heartfelt message behind the song, even if it might appear saccharine to some people. It's not 'current', it's not 'hip', it's not fashionably cynical... but isn't that the whole point of this song? My taste in music has NEVER been fashionable! I was always a decade too late!

Don't get me wrong, it's right at the far edge of my cheese-tolerance levels, but I still love it! Was laughing at the sheer over-the-topness and hookiness of the chorus when it hit! I think it either puts you off and you disengage, or you go "Ha! Yeah - that's Jim Peterik alright! Fantastic!" and roll with it!

It's given me a huge dopey grin on my face! Survivor were always my favourite melodic rock band and Peterik is one of my "try to collect everything" songwriters, so of course I'm gonna like this! That chorus is HUGE!

Suspend your disbelief, people! Go with it! :-D
