When I worked as a contractor, I was with an outfit that did a tornado drill. Of course, what should happen but it took place JUST as I was coming in to work. :S

And considering the mass mayhem that happened when Virginia got hit by the earthquake last year, perhaps we do need to think on these things. I think daily about how I'd prepare for an emergency evacuation (yeah, fun, get 3 cats into a carrier), and I have emergency contact lists that I keep updated.
