The Cult was one of MY kind of bands. Ear twisting and balls to the wall. I agree Sanctuary is a classic. The thing that separated them in my mind from the standard nancy chaff was that I never got a sense of poseur pomposity from them. But remember I could never tolerate bands like Loverboy (still can't), so what do I know? Obviously very punk inspired and in some ways an anti-"formula corporate rock" band. If you like it edgy, this would be for you. If you like it safe, you'll get confused.
