Yep. I don't even click on Andrew's 30 and 60 second samples anymore because I've been burned too many times (thinking it sounded great and then being disappointed with the CD or thinking it sounded terrible and then discovered the cD was great). I think it's the musician in me ... I know that when I write a 5-minute song, I want the listener to hear all 5 minutes or I would have written it to be shorter. If you pull 1 minute out of any song I've ever written, I can tell you that it won't tell the whole story; you have to hear it all. It would be like sticking a spoon in a container of neopolitan ice cream, tasting only the strawberry, and saying you hated it. There was chocolate and vanilla in there too, but one taste on a spoon didn't get that far. In that regard, a 1-minute sample of even a 4-minute song still doesn't do it for me. As usual, I'm probably in the minority here :)
