You say that... but in Britain, The Clash's music is part of what defined a generation... and Escape hardly even sold over here first time round.
So The Clash clearly had the talent for something that Journey didn't...
And I say that as someone who doesn't really like nor own anything by The Clash, and I love Journey (less so now... with a singer who I can't always understand, a guitarist who posts pictures of his cock on the internet and a drummer who's currently paying the cost spousal abuse... kinda made them go down in my estimation).
In lists of Greatest Albums the world over, London Calling by The Clash will probably feature quite prominently, and Escape will probably not feature at all...
