True enough.....but Van Halen very shrewdly got away with it by revisiting songs that were shelved from their early days. Althpough they have always been the kind of band that can, and sometimes do, put out just about anything. They have the freedom to do that. Van Halen could have released an album of Blue Grass and I don't think there'd have been too much of a backlash.

Along with Queen I think Van Halen are the only other hard rock band that had the ability and the fan based goodwill to do whatever they wanted.

Aerosmith don't have that luxury.
