Yeah, I can understand the thinking, but the length at which he goes to put down, or excuse, his previous work makes him seem almost embarassed by his past.........he seems to be obsessed by being accepted as some sort of serios muso/songwriter,made more obvious by his constant referrals to him wanting to be able to write like the greatest pop/rock composers.
I love alot of Butch's work, from early Southgang right through his 'hit' songs for artists like Avril Lavigne and his solo work, but his,constant need to dismiss it all sits uneasy with me.....maybe he would get that respect that he so obviously craves from his peers if he was to accept and embrace his colourfull past.....and stop trying to distance himself from what he has created.
