Grunge or more importantly Seattle gave us some amazing music in the late 80s and early 90s. Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden...all put out some great music back then. The kids were getting restless back then and looking for something new. The scene changed and people gravitated towards a more "real" sound and experience.

The music was only part of the equation. The fashion and attitude was relatable and I think the public ate it up at the time.
