I have to agree and disagree. Although I don't listen much to radio (bacause radio sucks in Sweden, and I have too slow connection to tune in live over internet), I find a lot of releases and soundbytes, from bands with the "80's" sound, that would have never been released 5 years ago, under a big or semi-big label, and they still don't.

But a lot of smaller labels have started to really enhance this genre. My want/buy list has never been bigger than it is right now, but I fail to see any of the big record companies in that list. Maybe I am just unaware of the connection between these labels (Z Records, AOR Heaven, Frontiers, etc) and the bigger companiers?...

On the contrary I have seen e.g Alice Cooper (once a Sony released artist) coming with a new album on the Spitfire label. Just one example of many...

Just my $0,02
